This Weekend In and Around Mammoth

daily0910131

It’s a cloudy Saturday morning at Main. With no wind to speak and temps in the low 30s, it’s a good day to be out on the hill. So far, there’s been intermittent snow showers this morn and from the looks of current cloud cover more may be on the way.

And if you’re still in town, swing by P3 and grab some free BBQ and 2011 demos. That’s right, you can check out some gear that isn’t even available to the public until next season from some really cool manufacturers like K2, Armada and Line as well as Never Summer. The latter makes some of the most bulletproof boards out there. Never Summer’s Titan is one of our favorites. And they’ve redesigned it for next season, so if you like ripping fast groomer runs, definitely try to get your mitts on one.

Demo days at P3 go down tomorrow, Sunday, too.

And if you’re so inclined, the backcountry is absolutely going off right now. We got back their for a quick run yesterday and it was knee deep and perfect. Check out some pics from a crew who did the same here. And it goes without saying that if you venture into the backcountry, you need avalanche training, a buddy or three and all the appropriate safetey gear.

Have fun!
